Most luggage brands keep making bigger suitcases.
24-inch. 26-inch. 28-inch. Sometimes even larger.
Meanwhile, I went in the complete opposite direction.
When I launched COLLAPSO™, I launched with only two sizes:
✈️ A 20-inch Carry-On
✈️ A 16-inch Mini Personal Item
And believe it or not, that decision was intentional.
Bigger Was Never My Goal
When people hear I created a luggage brand, one of the first questions they ask is:
"Where are the larger suitcases?"
It's a fair question.
After all, most luggage companies offer entire collections designed around the idea that travelers need more space.
But after years of traveling for work, family events, vacations, military assignments, and everything in between, I noticed something.
The more luggage I brought, the more complicated travel became.
More bags to drag through the airport.
More bags to check.
More bags to keep track of.
More opportunities for something to get lost.
More money spent on baggage fees.
More waiting at baggage claim.
And somehow, despite bringing more stuff, I rarely enjoyed the trip any more than when I traveled light.
My Personal Travel Rule
For years, my travel strategy has been simple:
Carry-on.
Personal item.
Go.
No standing in line to check a bag.
No waiting at baggage claim.
No wondering whether my luggage made the same connection I did.
Just get off the plane and start enjoying the trip.
That travel style became the foundation for COLLAPSO™.
Instead of creating luggage for every possible travel scenario, I started by creating luggage for the way I actually travel.
The Story Behind the Mini
The 16-inch Mini may be my favorite product in the collection.
Not because it's the smallest.
Because it solved a problem I kept running into.
I wanted something with wheels that could fit under the seat in front of me.
Sounds simple, right?
Apparently not.
Everything I found was either:
🎒 A backpack
👜 A tote bag
🧳 A larger carry-on
What I wanted was a true personal item with wheels.
Something compact.
Something functional.
Something that could actually handle a real trip.
So eventually I stopped looking for it.
And built it myself.
Why the 20-Inch Carry-On?
The 20-inch Carry-On is the workhorse.
It's the bag I reach for most often.
Weekend trips.
Business travel.
Family events.
Long weekends.
Even extended trips when paired with the Mini.
In fact, I've packed for trips lasting up to 12 days using nothing more than a carry-on and personal item.
No checked luggage required.
Why Only Two Sizes?
Because I believe in solving one problem well before creating ten more products.
Could COLLAPSO™ eventually expand into larger sizes?
Absolutely.
But before I create more luggage, I want to perfect the sizes I use most often and the sizes many travelers use most often.
Sometimes having more options isn't better.
Sometimes the right options are enough.
The Real Difference
The truth is, the most unique thing about COLLAPSO™ isn't the size.
It's what happens when the trip is over.
Because unlike traditional luggage, COLLAPSO™ collapses flat for storage.
The same luggage that travels with you doesn't have to take over your closet, guest room, garage, or spare bedroom for the rest of the year.
Travel full.
Store flat.
That simple idea is what started this entire journey.
And for now, two sizes are all I need to tell that story.
